Brentford stretched their unbeaten run to eight games with a 2-0 win over promotion-chasing Sheffield United.
The Bees went in two-up at the break after a quality finish from Clayton Donaldson and goal of the season contender from Harry Forrester.
Donaldson struck after three minutes, deftly glancing home Toumani Diagouraga's left-wing cross at the near post and Forrester made it two on the half-hour, turning brilliantly on halfway before smashing home a grasscutter from fully 25 yards.
Brentford were in almost total command before the break, but had to withstand wave after wave of pressure from the Blades in the second period and Bees goalkeeper Simon Moore, who had tipped Shaun Miller's point-blank header over before the break, had to be at his best to deny Nick Blackman in a one-on-one on the hour-mark.
Brentford loan signing Marcello Trotta thought he had calmed the host's nerves late on, but his tap-in after a Harlee Dean piledriver was parried clear, was ruled out for offside.
Miller's goalbound effort was cleared off the goalline by Donaldson in the dying minutes as the Blades lost their composure, Harry Maguire escaping with a yellow for a challenge on the striker.

20th November Manager Danny Wilson described the 3-3 draw at home to Crewe as "a neutral's delight" but criticised the referee.
Nick Blackman struck the equaliser for the Blades in the 51st minute of Tuesday night's League One clash at Bramall Lane after Crewe had come back from two goals down to lead 3-2.
Shaun Miller's fortuitous finish and Harry Maguire's free header put the Blades in control after half an hour, but Crewe raced back and turned the game around with goals from Mark Ellis, Mathias Pogba and Chuks Aneke and Fulham-loanee Lauri Dalla Valle almost won it for the visitors before both sides were denied decent penalty claims.
Wilson said: "We feel we should have had a penalty and the DVD suggested it was a penalty, but we didn't get it so we're talking about something that's hypothetical really so we move on.
"Some strange decisions in the game I have to say, but the one thing the referee didn't do was defend for us and that's where our concern is more than anything."
Wilson added: "They could have won it, we could have, they could have won it, we could have. It was one of those games. It was a neutral's delight quite honestly. We didn't perform like we have been doing and made some bad decisions at times, but I'm not going to criticise them because it's the first time we've looked vulnerable defensively this season."

A Nick Blackman strike saved Sheffield United's embarrassment and salvaged a 3-3 draw against Crewe in League One on Tuesday night.
Blackman's goal preserved United's unbeaten home record after Crewe had come from two goals behind to lead in an entertaining match at Bramall Lane.
Shaun Miller edged the Blades ahead after three minutes with a fortuitous finish off his shoulder from Blackman's cross before Harry Maguire headed in unmarked on the half-hour mark.
Crewe halved the deficit three minutes before the interval when defender Mark Ellis hooked the ball over Blades goalkeeper George Long after Alex captain Luke Murphy had rattled the crossbar from 25 yards.
And the visitors were level three minutes later when Mathias Pogba slotted his fifth league goal of the campaign from close range after goalkeeper Long had flapped at Murphy's free-kick.
Chuks Aneke side-footed in Byron Moore's cross two minutes into the second period to put Alex ahead, but Blackman levelled almost immediately after Miller's shot came back off the right-hand upright.
Lauri Dalla Valle almost put Crewe back in front in the 65th minute, but his finish flew the wrong side of the post while the lively Blackman was denied a penalty after he appeared to be barged in the box.

17th November Manager Danny Wilson felt his side's 4-1 win at home to Stevenage was just reward after dominating the match.
Shaun Miller scored twice on his full league debut for the Blades with Neill Collins and Chris Porter also finding the net. Boro skipper Mark Roberts struck at the end of the first half to make it 1-1 at the break.
"From start to finish we did enough in the game to suggest we deserved a scoreline like that. We dominated from the first minute but unfortunately we were undone by a set-play just before half-time," said Wilson. "We told the players at half-time to just keep doing what they'd been doing. We were creative and put some dangerous balls into the box which they had difficulties dealing with.
"In the second half, we took our chances very well. Shaun Miller did very well and he's being doing well all season, in fairness, but he's been unlucky.
"We had a look at Shaun out wide a couple of games ago and that position is not really suitable for him so we put him in the middle and tried Nick (Blackman) on the wing. I thought Nick did very well at times.
"It's great to score four goals at home because the fans have witnessed some good football this year without the end product. They got the end product this time and there was a bit of swagger about our play at times, which is great."
lades manager Danny Wilson is unlikely to be able to call on hamstring victims Matt Hill and Tony McMahon this weekend.
The defensive duo both limped out of last Saturday's 1-0 defeat at MK Dons and United went on to lose their first League One game of the season.
Although the prognosis is not too severe, they are unlikely to be fit for the visit of Stevenage on Saturday.
"They are struggling. We have got another 48 hours or so, but they are struggling and I'm not banking on them being fit for the game," Wilson said. "It's too early to say how long they will be out, it might be sooner rather than later, but they are struggling for Saturday.
"I don't think it is any coincidence that they have been in the team and we have had as many clean sheets as we have. So the dynamics of the team will change, but whoever comes in, it is an opportunity.
"In an ideal world we want our experienced players out there, but we aren't in that position."

Shaun Miller marked his first league start for Sheffield United with two goals in a 4-1 victory over promotion rivals Stevenage.
Miller struck twice from close range in the second half after Boro skipper Mark Roberts nodded the visitors level, cancelling out Neill Collins' header. Chris Porter completed the scoring, getting ahead of his marker to score with another header.
Both sides started well, United had Porter and Miller as their front two with Nick Blackman wide on the right flank. Michael Doyle shoot over the crossbar from the edge of the area and Lane goalkeeper George Long produced good save to keep out Filipe Morais' header.
Collins opened the scoring after 19 minutes, heading in at the far post from Doyle's left-wing cross. But Stevenage equalised in the last minute of the first half when Morais' corner was met by the head of Roberts.
Both teams emerged for the start of the second half without the officials who finally came trotting out several minutes later met by cheers from the fans. Kevin McDonald and Ryan Flynn combined to set up Miller after 55 minutes before he grabbed his second goal with another close-range finish after the Boro backline failed to clear Flynn's cross.
The under pressure visiting keeper Steve Arnold turned over a shot from Nick Blackman before Porter rounded off the scoring in the 87th minute, getting ahead of his marker to beat Arnold with another header.
United for the first time in a while looked well balanced up front with Porter and Miller combing well together and Blackman looking better suited in a wider position. But the real star of the show was Flynn with two killer crosses' for the goals.

Shaun Williams' late penalty gave MK Dons a 1-0 victory to end Sheffield United's unbeaten start to the League One season. Williams stroked a contentious late spot-kick after Angelo Balanta was allegedly fouled in the box by United substitute Darryl Westlake.
The hosts controlled the first half and Dean Bowditch twice went close, while Balanta had a curling 25-yard shot well-saved by goalkeeper George Long.
United striker Nick Blackman had a 20-yard snap-shot saved by David Martin before Dons forward Bowditch had a strong penalty appeal turned down after he appeared to be tripped by Neill Collins.
The Dons continued to dominate after the break and Ryan Lowe missed a golden opportunity when he fired straight at Long from Luke Chadwick's perfect lay-off.
The Blades rarely threatened but it looked like they would hang on for a fifth successive clean sheet until Williams' dubious late penalty settled matters.
After the match United manager Danny Wilson told BBC Radio Sheffield: I'm livid with the penalty, it's an absolutely disgraceful decision and the referee has got it totally wrong. "The MK Dons fans had a pop at him at the end of the first half for not giving a penalty and it was a penalty and I admit that but that doesn't make any difference.

Danny Wilson returned to old club Swindon and left top of the League One table as Sheffield United earned a 0-0 draw at the County Ground.
The hosts twice hit the woodwork through Matt Ritchie and Gary Roberts, but United almost snatched a last-minute winner themselves when Neill Collins' effort was hacked from the line by Jay McEveley.
Ritchie might have scored in the second minute with a volley which struck the top of the Blades' bar and Roberts struck a post with a shot from just inside the area shortly after the interval.
The Blades had few opportunities with Matt Hill and Ryan Flynn heading wide from good positions in the second half.
Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio once strayed two yards on to the pitch to remonstrate with his defence as his team earned a valuable draw to stay in touch with the division's pacesetters.

Sheffield United came from behind to beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 in their FA Cup first-round tie at the Memorial Stadium. David Clarkson fired Rovers into a sixth-minute lead, driving at a back-pedalling United defence before planting a right-footed shot past George Long from the edge of the box.
The Blades equalised eight minutes after the break when Nick Blackman produced a superb left-footed finish from a narrow angle after running on to Porter's throughball.
And nine minutes later Neil Collins headed down a left-wing cross for the unmarked Chris Porter to convert a simple chance from close range.
League Two Rovers more than held their own in the first half, with Derek Riordan and Fabian Broghammer going close. Ryan Flynn had United's best first-half chances, twice firing wide from good positions. Danny Wilson's men improved after the break and Porter had a 71st-minute header cleared off the line.
